I have a current class A cdl but have not driven for 16-17 years. I see on Maverick's web site that they have a student training. Does anyone know if they will hire will no recent experience and then let me co drive or do they offer a refresher type course? I have an excellent work history and driving record.

Thank you for any info. From reading many post's Maverick seems like a great company to work for, for people that are willing to work hard, do their job and keep a positive attitude.

Maverick is a good OTR flatbed company they are not perfect but they do try to think of the driver. They do not offer any type of refresher course as far as I know, however most of the CDL schools do. Give them a call and talk to a recruiter they will be able to answer your questions better than anyone on this forum. Good Luck

As long as you have a CDL you do not need a refresher course with them. Used to they would just put you with a trainer until you was ready. Not sure if that is still current.

I applied to Maverick today and well I have a question. I have a Careless and Prohibited driving ticket on my record from last October. This is an entirely different ticket than a Reckless driving ticket which is a misdemeanor here where I live. Will this cause me to not get hired?

    Sure they will hire you.

They have to replace the drivers who quit, or who got run off from last week.

I am considering Maverick as well as TCM for a flat bed position. Seams like they are 2 of the best flatbedders out there. Start my 160 hours training after the first of the year and hope to be running by Feb. Got 3 pre hires already but not committing to anyone yet. Gonna be a big lifestyle change but I am ready!!!
