What would he prefer to drive more, a spaceship or a combine?

We have had recruiters from both Maverick and McElroy visit our school and here is my 2 cents. Both companies have nice trucks. Do you want to drive an auto or a manual? We have 1 automatic truck at our school that we never drive, however due to our usual trainer truck being in the shop, we did drive the auto all day yesterday. After driving this truck, give me an automatic anytime! Next question is, do you want an APU or not? From what I understand McElroy's trucks are not equipped with APU's. Do you want to have E-logs or paper logs? Maverick runs e-logs, McElroy is still paper logs. McElroy does gaurentee weekends at home, Maverick says home most weekends. Both companies to give you extra pay if by chance you are out on the weekend. Maverick training pay is 550 per wk, whereas McElroy is 450 per wk. McElroy starts out at a higher CPM than Maverick, but you may not get as many miles as you would with Maverick. Maverick claims on avg 2200-2600 miles per wk, the McElroy recruiter would not even answer that question when I asked him, he just said the miles would vary. They both seem like good companies, I know where I live I see both trucks quite often. I'm leaning toward Maverick personally, but if things don't work out with Maverick, McElroy would be 2nd choice.

Also, does McElroy tell you what route to run or do they let you make the decision. Do they tell you when and where you have to fuel and how much to put in, or do they they let you decide as long as you are in their network.
I do not know anything negative about McElroy. I just know that at Maverick I am treated like a professional and can make decisions on how I want to run. As long as I meet their goals....they really do not care.
Best of luck to you in your decision....I might add, you can not imagine how much my quality of life on the road went up when I got that truck with the APU....I would not want to be without one...Chopswithafist and Flatbedder 1966 Thank this.
