You showed them. I looked in to them years ago recruiter told me that I would have to stay out 6 to 8 weeks to turn a profit. I almost hung up on him. Jim you made the right decision.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

I see you are in Columbus. I live just 40 miles north. I used to live in Dublin, but now live in Marengo. Who do you drive for?

It is if there is something wrong with you if you think spending time at home with your family is one of the more important things in life!
I was looking at the reefer side at the time. It was before I had even considered flatbedding.

They really push taking care of the drivers and to be helpful. But the undertones you get when dealing with some of them tell a different story. "I have to do this as per company policy but I really don't care." Not everyone, or even most of them, do it but enough of them do it to cross the BS line.

I hate to see people here at Prime that have good family and it pains them to stay out for so long.

Some of the married ones need to get home so the wife wont spend all the money. :)

Here is my take on companies that make their drivers stay out for long periods. They do it because they are lazy! They do not want to take the time and effort to put their drivers on Wednesday or Thursday in a position to make it home. They would rather just give them the nearest load because they do not have to worry about them getting home.
But when it is due for their home time, then they have to do what they should be doing every week!:biggrin_25513:

    or....

52 weeks a year right? 2 days in a weekend right? a driver should average 400 miles a day at least right? whats all that mean? It means thats 104 days a year that truck is sitting not makeing them a dime thats 41,600 miles that truck didnt move that it should have....at lets says they profit .50cpm $20,800 and at 500 trucks thats $10,400,00 in lost revenue a year.

Trust me i think it would be great if every driver could be home friday night and leave on monday morning but that just isnt possible for all kinds of trucking or types of freight. Like Oversize for example, with curfews and crazy routes etc it maybe not be possible to go get a load, get it delivered, reload, and get back home all in 5 days.....

I think it's this too. Especially with a company that went under. They are going to make sure it dosen't happen again.

I like to recap. I'm not sure what the majority does, it seems mixed from what I have heard.
