I have the benefit of having driven for both :D so heres my take. Primes training is the industry leading program (I said this even when I drove for Maverick). Prime isnt the ones tooting their own horn about it either, they have been recognized and awarded many times for their training program. You wont just be a "90 day wonder" when you finish their program. You can train on flats at Prime but may have to do your initial phase on a reefer truck because there are far less cdl instructors on the flat side. Mavericks flatbed training as far as securement goes has Prime beat hands down. Prime could take a lesson here for sure. Once you have completed training then really its a what do you want to do type of thing. Maverick will get you home more often than Prime and Prime makes ALL flatbed drivers buy their own equipment (cuts down on the "I lost it" stories). Now Prime recently aquired a Walmart dedicated in your area so if you are still considering Prime you may want to ask about that. The hometime for that will be weekly. Despite the horror stories about Prime its really a great company and Im treated with respect here. All in all its a apples versus orabges question just depends what you want.

I've been back and forth across TN all week, must have seen at least 100 flatbed guys lol. It's a very central location for us. I had two deliveries in Memphis and one in Nashville this week, and I'm TCD.

Rigbuilder where does the glass typically get loaded at? All of east TN is in the glass div. hiring area just not middle or west TN.

You failed to mention that you are a lease operator at Prime.

Dude, all I remember is that it was located off of Raines blvd. I think it was in South Memphis. Sorry I couldn't tell you more but all these places tend to blend together.

Yeah but our company guys here are treated well also. I didnt feel being lease made a difference in my critique since everything applied to both company and lease. Company drivers are paid very close to Maverick wages with the only downside being a smaller truck on company reefer side. Right now company flats seem to still be issued full size trucks. But like I said its apples and oranges almost.

Do you think maverick will call past employers from work history? Talked to a recruiter yesterday he said about 5- 7 business days. My app is being proceesed for reefer division. Good work history just waiting to be called for orientation in little rock. Cant hardly wait.

I know they sent verification faxes or called all of mine....and that is what took the longest.
