drive 48 mph for 8.75 hrs equal 420 mpd

 

Even divisions though receive different length of hauls. I was talking to a veteran maverick driver who is in the US division and his avg length of haul for the loads he told me was 600-800 miles. If I were to avg out my length of hauls in RAT, I'd be closer to 400 mi per load. Get this though, ...I CAN NOT DRIVE ANY MORE MILES THAN I'M DISPATCHED.

Perfect example, my current load assignment:

PU: 6-5 0700-1500 in St. Louis
DEL: 6-6 0700-1300 in Ft. Smith

9 empty, 387 loaded.

no matter what I do, my avg miles per day for 6-5 is going to be 396 miles. THIS is a typical load that I've been dispatched on!

 

I love pfp though. Its a great idea and there is no one answer across the board and I realize that. I'm just saying... for discussion. lol

I'm pretty good at smelling BS a mile away but when he is reading straight out of his load assignment note pad, kinda hard NOT to believe him!

 

Ahh come on now, I average like 4800 miles a week and get home all the time on Fridays. Usually take off around 9am on Mondays for my first 1000 mile load. Its sweet ya know.... LMAO

 

Joking aside, I'm looking at MY numbers to see that MY dispatch assignments are not going to get me big MPDs...

I am happy getting 2200ish miles a week!

 

One thing you have to realize is that you have to haul more than one load a day. As long as you can do your loading/unloading in under 3 hours you still have 11 hours to drive. So you have to average 38 mph to get 420 miles a day! Also remember the daily average is figured on a five day week. So if you want to boost your number stay out over the weekend.

38 MPH is achievable even in a truck with e-logs and auto shift. All you have to do is tighten up that loose nut behind the wheel from time to time.

If 38 MPH is just too fast for you maybe you can get a job driving the kids train at your local amusement park, it would be your speed and chicks dig that engineer uniform.
