Out of curiosity, notarps, why'd you go with Prime instead of Mav IC? I don't run into too many Prime flatbedders, which leads me to believe the flatbed division isn't that large there. I did run into a guy in VA that bragged up how great Prime is, saying he takes home 1/4 million/year and he has a few million saved up in the bank.
-
yeah right
-
The event actually happened. I kind of had to laugh at him, too.
-
Yeah, my mistake. I would never run teams. I meant company driver. -
I had been on the waiting list for 6 months. Mav is as hard to get into on the IC side as the company side is. I was told I could not get a truck till this winter, plus was told that they are short on trucks so when a IC turns in a truck it goes back into the company.

Somebody should tell them Freightliner is still making and selling trucks. I know Mav IC makes money off the leases, seems they'd be more than happy to get some new trucks.

I am about to start school and put out a few emails of interest. Maverick called me and sounded somewhat interested. The recruiter seemed somewhat confused that I was interested in their specialized division. Is there a reason to avoid it? I've read a lot of good and bad about Maverick, and didn't really think about flatbed, but their glass hauling seems like a nice fit for me.

Agility Test? My mind instantly went to a hiring test for police officers and military... old habits. Not trying to ask a dumb question, but I must. Is this a physical agility type fitness test or something different? Please explain. I appreciate it. By the way, how are you liking being leased on with Prime? -
Yes, they will test your strength and range of motion. Not sure yet, will have to get back with you after the dust settles. They are nothing like maverick. Maverick was organised and pretty much predictable, but with mav I was a company driver so it's kind of hard to compare the two. Maverick was organized. I have yet to figure out what they are. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing....
MilkMan Thanks this.
