Hello Jim the Hut. Just a quick question about Maverick orientation. I've heard from school instructors that another flatbed company (I won't mention any names, but they do have nice looking trucks) brings on about 40 - 50 people to orientation and skims the best 10 - 15 off the top. Unfortunately some of the guys don't stand a chance even if they are good. I was just wondering if you have a legit shot with Maverick. It would be nice to go to orientation knowing that the job was mine to lose.
I would appreciate any information you could give about orientation. Thanks Jim. I hope all is well. I received an email from a Caleb in the recruiting department and am giving Maverick serious consideration. -
anyone willing to do things, "the Maverick Way" has a legit shot. There is no skimming the best off the top as the case may be at the place with the nice trucks. Most of the time, it is the students themselves who skim themselves out of a job at a great company & btw, the 2011 cascadia model trainer trucks are nice too

3rd quarter MPG results are in. . . 7.86 for me. . . BOOYAH!!!! 4.5 cents per tariff mile for the quarter.
Last Friday, Maverick had me switch out of my 07 columbia trainer truck into a 2011 Cascadia. . . . NICE!!! Students will like them as well. In lieu of cabinets along the ceiling above the back and side walls of the sleeper, the student now has a bunk with a mattress.
I only had one fueling that i could figure out the MPG for the tank and that was 7.54. The sweet spot on the 07 was 57mph empty or loaded so i will continue to do so in the Cascadia.
Dont worry all you Supertruckers out there, i will continue to stay out of your way in the Granny lane. -
Thanks Sarge. That's good to know. Maverick sure sounds like a good company, and I would love to have a chance to earn a shot to drive for them. Are you driving around in one of those new Cascadia models?

Kicked one off in Grand Rapids reloaded in Wyoming and mashed the gas. Guess that's why I'm only at 6.8.

its above the company goal so they'll stay off your back and on those who didn't get it.
