TMC does however reimburse you for your tuition. Plus they work with the Government and the VA, so if you have GI Bill benefits, you can get paid with that as well while driving..

Im not sure how Maverick works tuition reimbursement but I do know we hire out of schools so Im sure they have some form of it and as for Vets they work with those programs as well. Even if they didnt,to go to work for a company paying basically slave wages in todays drivers market is just a stupid decision. Go drive that pretty flashy petercar but when you decide you've had enough you'll realize driving a freightliner with better pay/benefits and a better record of reliability for hometime etc isnt so bad after all. Theres an old saying "chrome dont get ya home" meaning all that flash has to be paid for somehow ie: out of your pocket.

I called Maverick and no, they do not reimburse for tuition.. So thats over $4500.00 I am losing. And they do not work with the VA regarding the GI Bill. So thats another $500.00 or so a every two weeks I will be losing. If Maverick's pay was higher then TMC by $500.00 every two weeks, then it would be worth it.

The majority of posts I read on here does show that TMC driver's do get home close to 48 weekends a year; just like Maverick. Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing Maverick or saying TMC is the best out there, because I know they are two great companies. But money talks.. Oh, TMC does have a terminal in Indy and thats where I live.. Anyway...

knightbringer, i drove for mav for 5years til medical reasons have me off the road temporarily , if you are going to be in the us division pretarped loads are few and far between i have only had 2 in the 5 years . i also know my first year with mav i made around 49,000 but that also depends on how you run and how freight is but they do pay alot better than most. and i dont know about tuition reimbursement i have heard they are doin that and then i have heard otherwise but believe me they are about the best you will get . they do care bout the drivers . i have been away for 7 months and they still call me and check to see how i am doing ,i know of no other company that would do that for a former driver .i hope that helps you make your decisiion

Told ya Maverick is the better place. Ive been here 8yrs,almost 6 of that as an independent. We see TMC drivers in orientation A LOT!! TMC isnt the company they once were except they still drive nice trucks. They have paid for those fancy trucks on the backs of their drivers.
