Hepster I highly recommend Roadmaster driving school in Columbus, OH, an excellent outfit, ask for Randy Reiber at their recruiting dept tell him Jeff Updike said to call him, he will get ya squared away.
Brooklyn, the agilities test @ orientation is one of the industries toughest I am sure, but it was really not too bad, our class of 29 only lost 3 that day if i remember correctly. The training/testing that follows was where most were weeded out it seems. If u are in decent shape & can lift around 100 lbs from a squat to shoulder height (not too hard even for smaller guy like myself) & a good head on your shoulders, you will do fine. The training at Maverick is just simply OUTSTANDING.

Just a random question for those that are already driving. What is the heavest load that you have hauled? Weight wise.

The thing is, that it doesn't cost Maverick all that much for training. They get paid like all these other companies to create jobs. The thing is they don't have to spend the money they do making your hiring experience as comfortable as they do. I know their hotel wasn't 5 star, but they do give you 50 bucks at orientation and a 1000 dollar sign on bonus which is more than some companies. And yes you could go work for ROEHL, there is always Rich Owners Employing Homeless Losers. Frankly, I have no clue why Maverick didn't hire you. I was unemployed for 2 years while being a full time student(not by choice, 5 factories shut down in my area so everyone was out of a job), then working 2 restaurant jobs for 6 months before I got my cdl. Worked for Pam for 5 months before hiring on with Maverick. So your job history probably didn't have anything to do with it. Could it have been your attitude? Just something to think about. Maverick is a great company and I don't see myself leaving. I have no complaints so far. -
96,000 in 2000. I delivered a self contained water purification unit to a nuclear power plant that was about 150 miles north of Chicago. I did not exceed 50 mph for 3 days because I did not want the tires to overheat. The load was also very top heavy and felt very much like it too. I had to secure permits for every state I passed through from OK to IL.
