I really want to work for Maverick but I am concerned about their home on weekend time. I couldn't get a straight answer from the recruiter as to when I can expect to get home on Friday's and when I might leave out. I would be working U.S. Regional flatbed. Could you help me out?? I am trying to make my decision by tomorrow (9/12/2013). Thanks.

From what I understand from the flatbedders, it varies widely. There is no set time, it all depends on the load you're under. I've been told that drivers can be home as long as 48 hours, or as short as 24 hours, or sometimes less. There's no way for a recruiter or anyone else to tell you an exact time you'll be home each weekend. And there will be weekends that you don't get home - it's just the nature of the business.

You won't get a straight answer cause they don't guarantee home time for flatbed. I think TCD acrues theirs by how many weeks they've been out, but that doesn't apply to FB. I was on u.s. division and got home sometimes Friday usually at night, sometimes Saturday. For the most part I was hung out a lot, friend that went through orientation with is on long haul and he was home more than me. It all depends, good luck.

Average hometime is 34hrs. Depending where you live and how hard you work it could be longer or shorter. With elogs you have to make all your time count or come friday instead of being close to home you are a full days drive out. Dont expect every weekend either especially the first month. For whatever reason that first month seems to be difficult for them to find home lol. All this being said I was at Maverick 10yrs and I lived se of KCMO. I got home an average of 46wknds a year and my typical weekend was home friday night leave sunday night or saturday morning leave monday morning. However some weekends were shorter.

On the orientation that I have been through with Maverick , I had protien in my Urine from dehydration and was frowned upon. The management keeps the bottled water locked up behind a wooden door near the classroom. Very rarely unlocked it . And when I asked them to unlock it they said when I was done, refill the empty bottle with tap water from the public fountain in the hall. These people are Pure *ss#^**/. They created a problem where there shouldn't have been one.
I would not work for this cheap company.
