Max. diopter allowed??

    What's max. diopter allowed in the countries of EU? Even tho we share same flag, it probably still depends from country to country.
    In Slovenia there have been some changes and i believe it's +/-8 which is super duper high so could be my info is wrong. I remember ten years ago when i was in driving school max. diopter was about +/-4.
    The doc said: "It's 8 in total." but didn't asked her, if total means with corrections and stuff or +/-4 on each eye.
    Yankees, you can also respond but please not in your wierd units like 20/20 etc.

    In Italy the law doesent talk about diopters,we also use units. So to drive bikes and cars 10/10 must be reached with at least 2/10 in the eye that sees the least and the difference between the two eyes can be max 3 diopters
    To drive trucks and buses 14/10 must be reached with at least 5/10 in the eye that sees the least,again max 3 diopters between eyes

    Thanks. Didn't know you Italians also use these units.
    In our law i noticed numbers for example 0,4 or 0,5 but i still remain sceptic that 0.5 in our units means 5/10 in yours. hmmm must ask an expert.

    I have no idea, all i know is that to get the driving licence is enough to read a few letters on a poster on the wall :biggrin_25519:
