Stopping twice shouldn't be a big deal. If all your doing is stopping for the 2. It don't need to be a truckstop. If most are like me. The 2 was only for a nap. To which i took wherever there was a place to park. Such as rest areas or pulloffs. Where you could pull off and be parked in 2 minutes next to the freeway. Instead of spending 30 minutes trying to get parked at the truckstop.

If your rotating constantly on the 8 - 2 cycle, parking is almost never a problem, because your driving when most are looking for parking.

That sounds like a fun sleep schedule to undertake. Maximizing driving time, if you are a normal sleeper (i.e. sleep straight for 6-8 hours at a time) you are going to get burnt out really quick trying to game the system like this.

You might be better off buying a 1999 or older truck and cheating on paper logs.

Just get a faster truck, plenty of HP so the hills don't slow you down.

I don't do well doing that sort of schedule for any sort of long term but everyone is different. Some people can do that just fine.

the split only helps me in certain situations for example I start my 14 then drive one hour to load after 5 minutes I hit customer load only off duty which takes 2 hours then I drive 4.5 hours to receiver get there at 2am hit off duty at 8 am I pull into bay get unloaded done around 10 am then I go and edit my log to sleeper berth now I have 6.5 hours to get to yard and go home.Shady, yes but it works. if dot pulls me over all I say is I pulled into spot dropped off papers in the box and they woke me when I was done.Saves me 2 hours of sitting there doing nothing!
