For some reason I cannot find my time line of these engines, but I am sure N13 did not come out until 2013. He probably has an early SCR Maxxforce 13. If you give me the last 8 of the VIN I can see what it was built with.

Sorry for the delay Heavyd, the truck VIN is CN555315. Old Roehl truck. Runs pretty good for a 12.4L. The valve cover tag is dated as 2010 engine. The original manuals in the glove box only refer to EGR.
The low oil pressure might be a problem. Hopefully the electric gauge is off a bit or a stiffer spring or shim can bump it up.
At op temp at idle oil is at 15 psi and about 45 psi above 1200 rpm. Manual say min. 20 and 65 above 1200 rpm.
What's procedure, check oil psi with a real gauge and then pull crank bearing cap to check clearance? It be warrantied still. -
Ok, very interesting. Heard about them, but never came across one yet. This is a factory updated, "Diamond Renewed" truck. Basically it was originally built with a 2010 Maxxforce 13, EGR and DPF only, but was recently updated to N13 with SCR added in. It is now technically a N13. As for the low oil pressure, my manuals say 10 psi min at idle and 70 at wot full load. It comes with a full 1 year warranty, so that oil pressure issue should be covered. Warranty will only look into it if it is logging a code. No code, no warranty. I PM you for a bit more info.
Intothesunset, daf105paccar and Prom Night Dumpster Baby Thank this. -
I know the code leads to the EGR feedback position failed but trying to get to why it failed ? Please thank you -
Double check your code. I don't have 3981-2 in any N13 material.
