I was left hanging with my unit. Pretty sad when the International dealer couldn't even fix it (probably didn't want to either).

Has the software ever been updated on your truck's ECM? Before I started having issues with the engine, it was updated as recommended by the International dealership. Oddly enough, the overheating issues/oil leak problems started happening after. And before the DPF needed replacing several months later, the software was flashed again by the dealer a week or so prior. By the time I did the DPF delete, it was too late.

When I started looking through the Navistar Engine Diagnostics software, I was surprised to see the different parameters available for programming. Before my fan would kick in around the 200 F mark, and then it was kicking in around the 230 F mark. I asked the service technician about this, and he said the 230 F was normal. Normal?! I may be a novice and not an expert by any means, but that seems a little high to be normal.

Anyways, maybe I'm wrong, but if so many things can be changed within the software programming, how do I know if they set everything exactly the way it was, or just used some factory generic values? But it's something I still wonder about...

I have a qustion need some advice. I have a 2012 international durastar 4300 with 342000 a d deleted. I get a little oil out the oil breather on the bottom of the engine the housing the spins the oil back into the block. Truck runs mint otherwise does it mean i need a rebuild dosnt smoke or consume oil. I was wondering if I should rebuild or but a used peterbilt with lower miles please I appreciate your inputs.

Honestly, I would drive it and ignore it. This seems to really bother a lot of people. Engines will get tired and start to have some blowby and drip out the blowby tube. Also, some crank case oil separators also start to fail and don't work properly with age either. What engine do you have? If the engine is running fine and the regens are normals, and you aren't adding oil every day, put an extension tube on the blowby pipe and run it. Most MF engines are not worth rebuilding.
