Woohoo! Blktop's adventure is about to begin :yes2557:

Hey... I've been following your posts since the start and if you need anything while you're in Joplin... let me know. I only live a few miles from Conway and more than happy to help. I want you to feel at home while you're here.

I'm usually online after 6pm every evening... so feel free to send me a PM.

Nope. I work shipping/receiving and warehouse for a local industrial supply company here in Joplin. Awesome folks... wouldn't change jobs for anything.

I've worked directly with OTR drivers for most of my career at various companies and have always enjoyed meeting drivers and learning more about what they do. I've always been interested in trying OTR, but on a personal level it really just isn't for "me".

I've always been super impressed with CFI and Conway... so I kind of hang around here to see if I can help anyone needing info or recommendations about Joplin.

I do drive an Isuzu 18 ft cabover straight truck now and then down to Oklahoma and Arkansas for my employer if that counts for anything :biggrin_25524:

    Good luck guys!!

I've got a Missouri Class E "for hire" license which works as long as the truck is under 26,000 GVWR. Our box truck is only 18,000 GVWR... but it does need DOT registration and requires a DOT medical card. Gotta do that every year due to taking high blood pressure meds.

Let me see what's going on Sunday and I'll get back to ya. Thanks for the invite!

    Hey guys,

Just talked to one of the recruiters and had me some what confused. I will have finished my CDL training by the time I apply there. He told me that if you had already graduated from a CDL school, you just have to go to Crowder and spend a couple of days there, do your 7500 mile OTR and then come back through to get a truck? Seems sorta of easy. Maybe I am confusing some of the post I have read her with people who are attending the CDL class provided by Conway. Seems that their time with a trainer seemed a lot longer. Anyone who had their CDL and went there could you please clarify for me or give the name of one of the recruiters you talked to. Thanks in advance.

    who is your recruiter?
If you do not go to an aproved school for conway you have to go to boot camp @crowder. I believe it is 3-4 days read vmaggs thread has good info.

    1. orientation at joplin
    2. bootcamp
3.more paperwork and driveing test @joplin.
    4. placed with trainer
    5. 3weeks 7,500 miles training
    6. back to joplin to get your truck.

pretty sure that is the progression

    vmaggs Thanks this.
