Thanks for the words of encouragement! Though I'm sure my trainer gets aggravated when he has to help me put it in 7 low on decent tugs. I just gotta get my uncoordinated butt to dance better is all. Anyone know what this peterbilt qualcomm mod is about?

familymule, congrats on the new job. Sounds like your having a good time. One quick question; I noticed that you are in north FL., I was just wondering how far south they hire from? I'm about 50 miles north of I-4 on the Tampa side. Thanks

Depends on what day you call lol But seriously, it really does depend. Rob may not be hiring ANYONE from ANYWHERE in FL today, but call back Friday, and he might want/need 3 FL drivers. There isn't much freight they move in/out of FL to hire the drivers. The ONLY reason that P-Cola terminal exists is the contract with Armstrong demanded it.

Thanks for the reply. Kind of tells me that if I were to get hired, I would have a really tough time getting back home.
Thanks again

I go to orientation in Oregon next Tuesday(10/02/2012). Almost everyone in my class applied and I was the only one that was accepted. They were the only company I wanted to get with, so I was so stoked that the hired me. I have only found a couple negative post about May and I think they are probably true, but who is really perfect out there. Especially a big company like them. Some people seem like crybabies too. We signed on to do this, so do it..hopefully I will see you guys around some day. Again, very very happy to be joining such a great team..laters

Been a while since I posted on here, been a lot that has happened. Finally home after my first solo run. Everything from flat tires to light poles falling within a foot of my truck to having to recover a near-jackknife in a snow storm in Laramie, WY, it happened to me. Got my "winter wings" early, haha. Good to be home and good to have made a safe trip.

BTW, anyone else out there have their backing skills just up and disappear on them? Spent 45 min getting backed into an "easy" door, then realized I didn't open the doors. DOH!! Felt like my first day in a truck all over again. UGH.

That happens to all of us. Learn to take your time, double check things, and learn a little every day. You will be just fine.
