When I was doing Werner Power only runs, I once picked up a Werner empty from General Mills in Roanoke, TX that was pretty well worn out. It was the only empty they had so I had to take it. It got refused at a shipper when their forklift almost broke through the floor. I shagged it over to the Werner terminal in Dallas and dropped it off. They didn't even ask questions, lol.

I was always getting Werner trailers that had some sort of damage, doors so warped they would barely latch. Missing lights, etc. Even brand new ones.

I getting in late on this but I do not see how you could not have noticed if you hit something or not.. If your paying attention, and using your mirrors, then you should have avoided it.. Not saying you did it, but you saying your not sure, only tells me you were not paying attention..

The go get a lawyer and have him write you a letter asking for EXACTLY what damage was done and with full disclosure and for what cause.

$10K is a LOT of damage. And yes, it can be concealed depending on where it's at.

The other option you have is to go in to the office, forget even trying to call.

And ask the manager to see the alleged damage AND the video showing the damage.

THAT is YOUR biggest error is you did NOT see the evidence that they are using against you.

Hard to say. Go to another company only to get popped for a preventable? What kind of advice is that?

What do people want me to say?
I am supposed to be arrogant and say I am 100 percent sure I did not cause this
because when I start saying I am not 100 percent then people want to say I must not have been paying attention
Am I just being too honest by saying I am not 100 percent?
Do you get what I am saying ?

When I was first told about the video, that is what threw my confidence because now they supposibly had video footage and I did not know what to say.
I had one opportunity to talk with management about this and I just denied everything. I never thought about questioning the video. Their comments and attitude when firing me told me they are convinced I am covering up an accident.
That is what they put on my DAC also - failure to report accident.
I have to talk to a lawyer about what my options are.

From your own words.. This is why you do a complete pretrip of both tractor and trailer. Even if it takes you30min or more. When you work for a big carrier, they will blame you for anything if given the chance.. Now all you can do is try your best to prove to the next employeer that you indeed did not cause the damage..

Hey Garyg, what company did you work for? Also, what state did you file unemployment in?
I'm basically in the same boat. I was fired for hitting an overhead light on a roof awning at the dock of a shipper, taking out a stop sign, and hitting a security door to a shop at a shopping center I delivered for.
