After the 10 day it is your choice to go home a few days then hit the road or hit the road then go home. I hit the road and got home on July 2. I left home for the 10 day on 5/31. I did a 34 hour reset in PHX so I saw my wife and kids for a short time. I am home now on planned home time. 3 hours before I got home Grandma Jean passed away the company has been great with a few extra days to be with family. I should be back on the road tomorrow or Thursday. Watkins Shepard is awesome and very supportive to their drivers I am very impressed and appreciative for them giving me a few extra days.

Sorry to hear about your grandma Cage, thanks both of you Cage and TD. I know you haver to be out 3 or more weeks to get home time, but I was just woundering if I would be able to make a trip home to get all the stuff I wouldn't be able to take with me to the 10 day. I am planning on taking my inverter with me but it would be hard or just cost to much to take a microwave and TV with me on the bus. As for the 3 weeks out, it sucks to be away from the wife for that long, but the 5 weeks I was out with werner went by pretty fast. I just need to make it thru the 3 months probation so I can take my wife with me. Congrats on Grad TD. I don't have my paper work yet, but I do my drug screen tomorrow. I am guessing since I am scheduled to start on the 12th, that I'll leave on Saturday.

Hi I am currently running with May starting my 5th month. As far as Idle here is the way it goes, If you are in AZ and the temp is crazy hot you can idle, In july you already get 25% idle time allowance anyway and if you have used that up you just ask your dispatcher. I was on the fence between W/S and May and decided on May. So far they are very user friendly. As far as miles, I average around 2200 per week. Freight comes and goes, it isnt always busy but I rarely sit. The equipment is good with the oldest trucks being 07 Pete 387's. Lots of room and good power however we are governed at 1400 rpm on the flats and that means 61mph but hey it is their truck and like it or not that is reality. I don't get online much as acess is an issue for the OTR trucker, but I will answer any and all questions as I can. Good luck and I strongly reccomend that you all looking for a company take what the recruiter says with some degree of disbelief as their job is to paint their paticular company a rosey picture. Go to the truck stop and talk to truckers, we are glad to answer your question to a point. Keep in mind we are on a schedule, may have driven all nite and dealing with the road so if the one you walk up to is less than eager to talk, cut em some slack and try someone else. Good luck and be safe out there driver!

I was looking at May and W/S myself. I went with W/S because they are a smaller company. I am getting 2800-3000 miles a week. Have never sat unless I put truck in shop for something.

I 100% agree I talked to drivers at truck stops usually at the fuel pumps, learned a bunch and heard good and bad from all.

Snake, I have a Motorola Droid and use PDA Net and access the internet every day when I am on the road. If you have cell and/or data service the internet works. It is great. I also used it with my iphone.

    Good luck to everyone.

Thanks Cage, that helps alot. I wasn't sure if you got the truck before or after you got to go home for a few days.
Snake I did look into May and they do look like a great company. I would have had a hard time choosing but they made the choice for me. Since I was with werner for a short period of time and don't have quite the time they are looking for it was Sorry try agian later. Glad to see your happy with your company, and they take care of you. That's all that matters.

Well, I got all my travel info and will be leaving tomorrow. I wont have the internet so it will be hard to keep up with you guys. Cage, give me a call if you happen to come thru my way. TD good luck on the new addition to the family and I hope to meet you out there on the road. It will most likely be about a month before I can check this, but keep posting.
    See ya out there.
