when i trained, my trainer said they've asked if he would train a female a few times but he always declined
-
I personally would not take a female on my truck to train. Too many opportunities for things to go wrong and to be blamed for something that you could never prove wrong if it did. Accusations of sexual harassment are difficult to defend yourself against as a man. -
Yep and that's exactly why I neverdid
-
My last few years I was in the navy I was an instructor. Weapons, combat tactics and so on. One thing I noticed with my female student is that the never quit. I had them cry and puke and such but not one quit. Where as I had at least 2 guys quit every class. But I do agree u have to be extra careful because if ur accused of sexual harraament u are guilty until proven innocent. And innocence he hard to prove when it is her word against urs. I hope I don't offend any female readers. But this is a reality for us men. In a world where there are.so.few women drivers. Just like the military.
shoextreme Thanks this. -
What kind of motors are May trucks running? Cummins isx? Paccar? I know for the 2013s there are no cats since cat stopped making truck engines that model year. Im driving a 2013 pete with an isx motor. The regen is all new to me. It does it while driving or as your parked. The dam thing is tricky to shift when its trying to regen while driving. Is this the case with May rigs?
The rig we have needed a reflash. You couldnt even initiate a parked regen unless the high temp lamp was on. Sometimes, the rpm would be high and the light is not on and still couldnt reflash. The thing im going to miss most about doing a parked regen, is getting paid for the 45 minutes to do it. May here I come. Lol. -
Cummins 450 ISX.
They are having major problems with the DPF technology too. Good luck.
Just wondering, why would a 15 year driver be going to May? -
-
May is not a place I would want to do a L/O or O/O. On the company side, they are a great entry level operation, but not one that most would choose to stay long term. Not ripping on them, I just know it for a fact. The statistics don't lie
-
never said I would lease or o/o with them. Ive have local or intra state california experience. Not otr. I said May has nice equipment. I like that in a company. See your telling me you dont recommend May but your not telling me why that is. I dont give in to the negative comments. I want to see first hand. Thats the reason why I dont even bother reading the bad company threads. To each his own right. Just because it didnt work out for one doesnt mean thats true for all. Im not getting into otr for the money because I know dam well I can make way more staying local. Thats not a statistic thats a fact. Just to experience otr is all. And why not with a company with nice equipment. If things dont look up then I move on. Plain and simple. But ill tell you what, I dont quit a job easily.
