May Trucking Home Time Question?

So far it's come down to my fav choices (in order), are May, then Schneider, then maybe Gordon, then going to flip burgers at McDononalds, THEN maybe going to Werner.

 

I spoke with a recruiter at May. She confirmed that I would have to drop it in Yolo. (Not doubting you guys, just had to ask) And I have also read in another thread that if you are out of the Pensacola Terminal you are allowed to take your truck home. When I asked about that, she said it would be up to my DM. Fair enough. Although the reason I was asking was because my parents live in Pensacola and the only reason I would be going as a '48 state' driver vs an '11 western' would be to occasionally get the Pensacola route to see my family for a couple days every once in a while. If I can't take the truck out to their place when I'm there for say my reset or even my 'off time' then I'm thinking maybe western 48 would be a better option.
So far I'm leaning towards starting out with going all 48 states, (I'm assuming I might get more miles in?), and then possibly switching to 11 western eventually after a year or two.
Can anyone weigh in on the pros and cons of going all 48 or 11 western?
So far the main difference I have been told was that if I go 11 western, I would be out 2-3 weeks with 2-3 days off. And if I go all 48, I would be out 3-4 weeks and home 3-4 days. I may be over thinking this, but I'm thinking I'll be able to get more accomplished while I'm home if I have 4 days off vs having only maybe 2 if I'm not going to be abe to drive the truck closer to home?

 

Please don't get me wrong. Home time isn't my number one priority, and my family and I do realize I am going to be gone a lot, and we're okay with that. But with me stil being a 'new-b' I'm just trying to look at all the angles to to minimize the '####, I wish I woulda....' s that I know I no doubt will have to learn over time.

So far all my research has told me that May is my best option for someone like me getting into this career. And even though some other of my options with 'pre-hires' from other companies allowing me to take my truck home as being one of the perks, I still think that I'm making the right decision in choosing May.... I hope.
