realy no pay problems,,, you had better exp than i'm currebtly having.
was broke down for four days in Iowa in the middle of nowhere.
they coughed up almost $900 for the tow bill in a matter of minuets.
BUT i've been waiting three weeks for my four days of breakdown pay, it's always sitting on someleses desk for approval..

I begning 2 think that i'm at the point in time where they test to see how far they can push you and d**K you around before you
    1. quit ( they dont have to pay unemployment)
    2. you push back (they can fire you)
    3. hand them the bottle of lube and grab you ankles

o.k i feel better now that i've vented my spleen

be safe, be careful out there.

Breakdown pay at May and many other OTR companies always seems to be a hassle because they know that a certain percentage of drivers will give up on trying to get it. So they will constantly delay paying it till you push back.

You have to stay on them daily or just get on the phone and don't take any excuses. I shut my load down just to get a PO for a truck wash at May, and then had to talk to the terminal manager in Brooks to get it approved. The truck wash was $30 and I had to get it approved by a terminal mng? Guess what kind of bull you will have to put up with to get 4 days of breakdown?

Break down pay at May is done by the breakdown dept and approved by Boyd Pucket. An #$$ if there ever was one.

Hey everbody, just got done going thru my log books for year, 305 days out on the road.

also went thru what receipt's i had and those i could'nt find i remembered approx. what the item's cost, and the tally on that was in the 3700.oo range that incl. some bags of ice, but not my groceries. just do dad's and trucker junk.

just posting some real number's for my first year out on the road for any inquiring mind's.

Ok, assuming you drive 48 states:

    305 * $52.00 * 80% = $7,930

Then, assuming a taxable net income of

    $40,000 - $7,930 = $32,070 taxable income

DOT truckers need only keep their logbooks to prove days spent away from home if the $52- flat rate is used, so toss the receipts for the ice and food. Motel stays not reimbursed by the company, and any job required hardware or services (e.g., CB radio, cell phone service, GPS navigator) are additional deductions that require receipts as proof of purchase.

If the company has enrolled you in a "per diem" program, then your screwed and can't do the $52 flat rate method...
