I just left May last month, they are a Good Co, I left for personal reasons, drove older long nose Pete 13 speed. People were great, trucks were ok, miles were good, weekend dispatch lacking (common with everyone), I had limited experience, was with a trainer for a short while, the good thing for new drivers is that the Training Period depends on you, there is no set amount of miles that you have to drive, so if you are just starting, May is a good Company to start with.

For your road test,at least, don't worry about it being a 13...just drive it like a regular old 9 speed, and it'll be ezy

my exp. was i had to go back too school and take a refresher course before they would accept me.

i like may and believe its is a good co. for someone starting out.

training depends on you, i was out 7 days till i soloed out. your real learning will come from hands on.

mentoring just makes sure you can control the vehicle and have a aptitude for this line of work. imo..

can you request a 9 spd at may or do such personal request rarely occur?

If you are a company driver for May do they let you install a laptop computer mounted on a laptop stand with a GPS system for directions to look and listen to while driving.

i was parked next to a trk this mrn. that had that set-up

what you need to be aware of from what i have heard is:
if you are pulled over the officier could potentially site you for looking at/the screen. i.e. watching t.v. while driving...
