Sounds like bluebonn is bragging.Well don't be surprised if you're going to be on an extended vacation for awhile.Companies will call swift inquiring why you got terminated, they're going to tell them exactly what you told us,you held a load hostage.

truckon, D.Tibbitt, FatDaddy and 2 others Thank this.

Yea...why would anybody be happy to get fired for being stupid and then having it on their DAC report? It sounds like this guy really has no idea what he is doing...

What could they possibly have done to cause you to do something as stupid as holding a load hostage? Have you read their driver handbook/contract completely? I bet not. You are gonna find yourself unemployed and living off the backs of the already broken workforce out there...I hope yer proud of yourself.

    pattyj Thanks this.

If I was to hire somebody I certainly wouldn't wanna hire anybody that held freight hostage. If they did it to their last employer they'll do it to me costing me time and money. You have a noggin don't you bluebonn,THINK BEFORE YOU STRIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD companies to work for won't call swift and ask what happened because they know #### well how they (swift) operate and how they treat their drivers. If I'm interviewing someone and he tells me he used to work for a bottom feeder mega carrier I'll listen to his side of the story and look into it, but won't necessarily base my decision on what their (le mega carriers) side of the story is.

I'm local, pays good and home every night. You can have 20 years OTR dry van experience with no accidents, incidents etc., but apply here and that 20 years don't mean squat. Hell I have 7 points on my licence, most (reads "all") big companies won't give me the time of day, doesn't stop me from workin' all the hours I want, making good coin and being home every night and weekends to watch my daughters grow up.

If he's looking for miles OTR then ya, the ops situation might screw him up. If he's looking for a career where he can make money and have a life outside of a cascadia and truck stops then no, won't stop him one bit. Just gotta find the right company that fits you and your golden. It can take a while but it's definitely possible to find.
