Well its better than asking strangers basic questions. This forum is extremely beneficial but leave the grade school questions to a training company.

I'll go with super trucker, I like the title Trainers don't know everything either with the standards most company's have nowadays. The guys on here are extremely helpful and lots pull more than skateboards including me. We're not all idiots who can't think for themselves like most in this generations. Anyone asks me a question or wants to get into this line of work I have no problem helping.

I didn't have a trainer and I didn't run unsafe from the beginning as you say. I didn't start with a training company and ive never had a trainer of any sort in my truck.

I've been posting pictures of my loads since I started running open deck. I'd like you to find one that is unsafe. Ive posted hundreds of pictures I look forward to you finding an unsafe load.

Tag me when you find an unsafe load.

Me too or is that three?

All it takes is common sense and the ability to read. The guy that was supposed to show me how to secure concrete pipe was doing it wrong. How did I know? I read that portion as soon as I knew that I was hauling it.

Most "trainers" seem like they've only been driving 6 months.

That's the standard. It's just a glorified team operation.

The guys at the last place that I worked nicknamed me safety Sam because of how much I secured. I never had a trainer on my truck, got my license on Thursday and delivered a 10' wide load on Friday.

Training companies serve a purpose and most of the time it is to inflate the ego of an idiot.

The guys that are at the top of their game did not get there because of a training company. These companies give you enough information to be dangerous but not enough to be an A game driver.

No trainer here. 1 week of securement training and I was handed the keys to a truck at Maverick. I had a little over a year of driving experience before that but it was all vans.

Everytime I've come up on something new I just figured it out. Mostly just common sense.
