Mbe 4000 major rebuild problems

Hi guys i could use any help i can get. After doing a in frame rebuild. I started my truck. After awhile i drove it for almost a mile. It started to blow black smoke. I barely got it back to my parking spot. I changed out the injectors. And i changed out the fuel filter and housing. Now i can't get it started . it's starting to get some fuel into the engine. But it won't fire up. Does anybody!! Know if the ecm need a code telling it that it has new injectors. It is mechanical injectors. 2006.
