It's been a roller coaster for us. Either we are really busy for like a month, than it slows down. Then, BAM! We get hit again nonstop. I've only been out here for 6 months and been somewhat steady.

Up and down. I live in my truck and have no major financial obligations so I have no problem out here.
For some guys, the income is unstable and end up quitting.

    bama007 Thanks this.

what are current crude hauling wages now in ND? I left in Dec of 12 been in S.TX...all the companies here are taking advantage of the oil $ drop & dropping wages grrrr we went from hourly to % & we all know who controls the loads so unfortunatly your day depends on the mood of the dispatcher :^(

Interesting. The company I work for recently went from per bbl pay to hourly and had a number of people quit over the change.

So does that mean the company you work for bid some work low and would have had to give drivers a pay reduction? I haven't heard of guys going back to hourly unless that is the case.

I would assume the guys that quit are the "go getters" that probably think they'll lose money on hourly. I see both sides of that equation. Lots of good jobs open for good drivers in nd still. Would hate for moss to grow on some of them...

It is a private carrier that hauls its own oil for sale on the pipeline or rail terminal. They do not 'bid' for work as they are the buyer of the oil.

Watford and belfield getting work.. lignite closed a while ago.. Ross is on one day off the next.. oil is going to %.. sand stopped getting the standby pay... No standby pay for Ross anymore.. no standby = no work no pay... Barley making 40 hours.. most of the time stuck in the mid to upper 30 hr range.. losing drivers weekly.. more to leave even tomorrow.. everyone thinking same thing that happened to lignite is about to happen here... Shame.. there's no information handed out.. the company seems pretty hush hush... But hey, they're still hiring!! So come on over!! LMAO

Yup. I am handing in my resignation in a few hours.

As for oil pay? They are dropping and dropping. The last guy hired in at $23.50/hour, and he had some experience.

I am quitting because I am still making water wages hauling crude, and that's not right.

Wassup, brain fart? When are you leaving?
