    I heard housing is free, but don't know what type. Also, medical for the whole family is free. Those two combined could add up to a lot depending on the size of your family, if applicable.

    I spoke with a current MBI employee last week. Housing outside the mancamp is apartments. 2BR 2BA. Two guys each at 600.00/mo. The latest is to double up to 2 guys a room at 600.00/mo. If you want your own room, you pay 1200.00/mo. This could all change at any time. I believe the single room mancamps at the Ross location is $500.00/mo. If any are available.

    Housing is not free and only the employee has free medical.

    Well, I was told this information from a recruiter during my skype interview and also from a former co-worker who started with them yesterday. He is working at the Charlotte, TX yard. Maybe the policy varies between TX and ND. Not sure.

    Hi, I'm new to this chatting deal so please bare with me. Do you know anything about the rates for owner operators hauling crude? Is possible you may know an owner operator that I could speak to. Thanks, much appreciated Kert

    This is kind of directed at QM, since you said fire away. . . You implied everything is negotiable? I've been through my Skype interview with MBI, as well. Still waffling between an o/o leased on with a larger co, sleeping in the truck, and having that for housing. That works for me. The cost of housing seems to be a relevant factor in my decision. Do you think a greenie with no experience to leverage has any bargaining power when it comes to negotiating housing issues with MBI? If not, that may shift the direction I'm leaning. I'm currently in a holding pattern with MBI, waiting for the next rung to reply to my interview. I'm also back and forth with o/o's with my info and the co's they're leased on with. Any familiarity with Wind River, or TCG Enterprise?

    Cheers, stay safe and thx in advance for any insight. . .

    If I was in your situation, "greenie with no experience", I would not push too hard on the negotiations. Springtime is when everyone wants to give it a shot. I would, however, stay away from working for an owner-operator. Take the job with MBI, get 1 year under your belt, and you will be good to go.

    I currently work for MBI out of the Ross yard. There are pros and cons to every company that you come across but generally speaking, I'm happy here. Just to answer a few questions;

    No, housing is not free. My apartment in Stanley runs 578 a month and I have 2 roommates that share the other room. Supposedly they are not going to be putting more than 3 people in a 2 bedroom. It has something to do with North Dakota state law about not having 4 people in a 2 bedroom that are not related. They also have man camps and skid shacks in the yard that are cheaper but I can't stay in the same yard that I work out of, I have to get away a little bit. They do have slots for your campers/rv but you have a fee involved but I think it also covers all of your hookups.

    The rates recently changed, I believe mbi takes 15-18 percent.

    We have contractors that haul sand and from what I know, they do stay pretty busy.

    If anyone has any questions feel free to shoot me a message or reply back to me and I'll answer as honestly as I can. I've been with the company for over 18 months now and recently moved into dispatch.
