I worked the ND oilfields for four years cleaning oil rig tanks and potholing with hydrovac trucks and left a year and a half ago.Still have friends and family out there but it is a whole different ball game now.Everything is super expensive, the boom is gone, many layoffs and companies that promise you the world but fall way short and you end up broker than you were before you got there. When it was booming if there was something you didn't like about a company you would go on to the next one and for more pay and the best thing about it all was that a week was the longest one went unemployed. Those days are long gone and the oil boom is going bust.Dont waste your time and money going up there, just wait it out till the next boom.Might be another 5-10 years.
