I just want to give all you guys my 2 cents on the food service. I work for one of the top food service companies in my area, we are pretty much like a sysco. My company starts out at just over 18.00 per hour, fully bennies, union and just about 5.00 an hour going into our pension. Food service companies dangle many goodies infront of u to get guys to come work for them.
Now here's the reality check and why people don't last... At my place you start at crazy hours. Sometimes at 11:00 pm to do a shuttle run or you could start at anywhere from 2am to 4am. You will be filling in on routes either the senior drivers don't want to do( like going downtown, which most guys avoid like the plague) or routes when they are on vacation, on call on your days off, driving in places a car does not belong in, never know which entrance to pull into, don't know where customers like there food stored, rude managers, unbelievable amount of product to unload ( some days are not that bad) and unrealistic time lines.
With that said I'm very fortunate to have gotten this job with the little experience I had. I know every food service company is different in the way they operate, but I'm getting the heck out of this and moving out to Texas. I would say maybe 2-3 out of 20 will last 6 months, and I'm in top physical shape and have been through a lot worse in the military, but I just can't see myself doing this for the next 25 years.. Lol MBM probably is much different, but I just want you guys to know what you're getting into.

If any of u guys reading this are in the Orlando area sysco is hiring drivers right now seen it posted at wrk few days
also most food service jobs have high turnover cause of the job/hours. Same as my job I'm order select aka guy who pulls the orders to go out on trucks for the drivers to deliever. Pay is good just like the drivers. But most ppl can't handle the work or sch both. Usually every time we hire 5-7guys 1-2 make it I've seen prob 50guys been hired since I started n maybe 6 of them are left.. -

Idk what you guys feel out on the personality test but I filled out 1 about 3 weeks ago. Didn't get that info. And just did 2 other locations her in los Angeles area last night. All applications been received. So far maybe you got a low score on personality test

When I first applied I was doing that test thought it was same answer didn't realize they changed it up from A to D half way through then started answering it correctly. No call. 2nd time a year later I applied again, took the test with a butt kissing attitude and they called me a week later. Didn't answer cause I got hired on LTL.

I got the same email a few years ago.

Well hopefully they are hiring. I mean with all the ads in the area you would think they are lol. Unless they are hiring in batches. So maybe we need to wait till the next batch of guys they want to hire
