MBN's can be flashed with a 6NZ ECM file, given an upgraded turbo and pull like a boss. Most post-6NZ CAT's need some modifications to be real strong motors. Even SDP's can be made into monsters.
I like that is a flat top. I really don't know what it's worth without being there in person and checking it over.
Pretty truck. Don't forget its still a 15 year old truck. The transmission wouldn't stop me from buying it if you plan to do tandem work with it on fairly flat land. What would stop me is a truck dealer rebuild with no warranty. Without a CAT backed warranty its a 40g truck to me. I realize that guys are paying more but when a backyard inframe on a CAT can be 20g and a full bore inframe at CAT can hit 40g l wouldn't want to take that chance. Everyone's different thought so good luck on your decision.
i agree, sooooo many inframes out there on cats and people selling them at the rate that it is bullet proof. You get no piece of mind. In my own truck, if or when my cat goes south, im getting a cat rebuild. even if it costs 10 more thousand, at least you have a piece of mind.
Imagine paying 15-20 k to a shop to do a rebuild with no warranty vs paying 30k to cat and having an issue. You just lost a lot of money and down time.
Between being known for having good mechanics and being cat certified is the reason we get lots of rebuilds. Quite a few guys will get a platinum then never see them again unless warranty.
