If you want some good info on Cats, check out Adept Ape on you Tube; lots of good, informative vids about them.

2002 CAT with no mention of rebuild at 1.1 million miles (the motor looks repainted, but why would they not say it's rebuilt?).
I've been seeing elog-exempt 379's with 3406E CAT's come up on the Peterbilt Enthusiast page on Facebook for 30-45k in decent shape, nothing spectacular, but no need for repairs. I'm not sure why this guy thinks his 2002 is worth way more than that just for being properly detailed but if he thinks 55k is too low, I'd say look elsewhere.
And if it's been rebuilt, dumping money on a rebuild doesn't magically raise the value of the truck by that much. Just like throwing 100k at a bunch of custom accessories doesn't make a 150k truck into a 250k truck.
Motor (rebuilt) is worth $25,000 (most people don't seem to understand that this is what the truck uses to make the money), truck around it is worth $10,000-15,000. At most that's a $40,000 truck.
No offense to the seller, but I've seen '80's 359's with Corvette dashes in better shape with 3406B's under the hood going for $30,000-35,000 on that page. In just as good of shape. And that's the seller's asking price.young trucker12 and SAR Thank this. -
