If that happens, turn cruise on and off using the steering wheel control for about 20-30 seconds. It should work again after that, but it won't be radar assisted.

Mine does the same thing at times. There are certain error conditions in the software that will shut the unit down (go red) in order to assure that the system isn't getting ready to crash you into something.
It usually happens when I'm in a hurry, and really need the speed.

You can turn the key off and immediately back on. It resets the On Guard and the truck keeps running. I've had random problems with the cruise not working at times. With the cruise in the off position, tap the brake, push in the clutch, and cycle through all cruise related buttons and or switches. Thats what they told me to do at Freightliner and its always worked for me.

These faults require a good hard shutdown. The rollin' down the road with the quick key-to-off routine doesn't cut it.

Haven't had hat happen in a while majority of the time is if we don't turn the cruise completely off when it rains

Had it happen to me, I pulled into a Loves n beat the@*$/@&@ out of it..... never had another issue with it lol (see signature for proper procedure) lol
