Wow! I didn't know that could bar me from a job by then. I guess I assumed if I didn't have something better that I'd have to leave it at their pleasant hill NC terminal and drive the 2 hours to my home.
I can see the mall from outside my front door. As of right now I see 2 trucks parked in the back of the lot. I wonder if they have an agreement or are just sleeping inside hoping for the best...
Well I guess they may have morning deliveries there as well.
Dang this may be a problem.

Same boat as you, man. Sitting here reading your post all paralyzed about it lol...
Man you still don't know a week before ship-off. The anxiety is killing me!
I had asked Wendy if sending chocolates might "help the process along". She laughed and said she liked fruit better... I think it might be time to find an online shipper lol... -

Heck, by Feb, Maverick may start hiring again. That would be awesome. You should call tomorrow though, you're getting close to needing a refresher for a lot of these companies. -

Anyone have any thoughts or comments about the McElroy terminal in South Pittsburg, TN? Specifically terminal manager (Barry Lawhorne) the dispatchers and other loads besides USG in Bridgeport (almost 8 months with Coastal so been there done that... no big deal)? Also anyone have any idea if they have short haul runs like Coastal? Been slightly burned by Coastal and went with a local outfit but now due to pending layoffs I may have to drive down that road again. So right now the only options I am considering are Mcelroy and Sunbelt since i live 5 minutes from the terminals. So feel free to chime in with any info good or bad about them.

Hello Ninjavanish,
I've only been to that particular terminal once, but from my limited experience, I found Barry to be a very accessible and cool guy. He seemed more like "one of the guys" than a "boss". The shop guys are also very laid back and cool. While I was there I talked with 4 or 5 drivers who are based out of that terminal and while things are slow for them (as with anyone), they seemed fairly content. Sorry I can't provide more info than that, but I'm based out of Pleasant Hill, NC.
Best Wishes! -
Hey Ninjavanish I talked to a driver with McElroy the other day at a company we were delivering to. He has been with the company for nine years and said it was a good job. Although any company has its up's and down's I have noticed that every weekend that a Mcelroy truck is in a drivers driveway. Ever weekend without fail. It seems to me that it would be a good job. Also Sunbelt out of S.Pittsburg runs alot of Atlanta,Ga. So be ready for that. Hope the job hunt goes well and good luck.
