At my last job if it was our own customers outbound freight and we had to tarp it the drivers got a percentage of the the tarping charges. Loads that they got off a load board going to wherever we needed to go you got a percentage of the load and that was it.

Never did inhale week there where I grossed as low as $600. I think my worst check ever was around 820 gross. If you made 600 gross and worked for them then you spent all your time at the truck stop
-
My company says tarp pay is included in the cpm also. However we only start out at 40 cpm. At that I've been grossing 800 to 1000 per week and we're 100% load board freight. For 600 bucks a week I better be working 40 hours per week and parking the rig at home every night.

Does McElroy let you take trucks home for the weekend?
-
Yes and no. Yes if you have a place big enough for truck AND trailer. No bob tailing. And it has to be a hardened surface. Because if it needs to be towed out. Whose paying for it? You are.
elroy33 Thanks this. -
If there is a Lowes or Home Depot close to you they will almost always let you park a McElroy truck there. But like stated above, there is no bobtailing

I had a friend sink his freightliner

Are you still with McElroy? If so what's it like? -
Does McElroy have autos or manual?
