To reply to the original question, the issue with the crap trucks I've driven so far is noise floor. Maybe the newer ones are better.otterinthewater Thanks this. -
I use my older Mac laptop to make high-def FLAC files from LP's. Almost 10 years old and it has 128/32 built-in.

I stand corrected. I must have had b&w on my mind when I said that, I have been drooling over a pair on eBay.otterinthewater Thanks this.

Speaking of lps, any of you ever see any of those lp players in cars? Talking about way back when.

Those were in the 50s. I remember 4 tracks and 8 tracks. FM was getting going in the late 60s.Maj. Jackhole Thanks this.

I just picked up this Blaupunkt head unit for 10 bucks. No moving parts to go bad on this one. You can load up a 64 gig sd card full of 26,100 songs and plug it right into the head unit.

Too expensive. Had to go mainstream to give ma and pay stores something competitive to sell. Most head units are all the same. When the look identical but are priced $100 higher it's the components. Better tuner, more features, etc. Very little difference in any of them.
