You can choose to be a grunt(infantry) run 12 miles, crawl around in the dirt @Radman you sure made me remeber when I was in the service, waking up early saluting the morning reveille and afterwards running while singing cadence. Good memories

We have several of these bids, and they keep adding more. I’m on one right now, with a driver I’ve known since way before McLane. It’s okay, but it will be changing in a month and we won’t be doing it again.

One of us naps on the way out, then we both bust out the cases and the other guy drives back. They pay us both 65% of what one dude would make by himself.

Seems to be a growing trend here, and nobody is really happy about it.

One thing that’s getting on my nerves too. I came to Foodservice side not to team. So did a lot of guys. We were the only ones to have teams from my knowledge in the system.
They think the older drivers want this but they want no part of these teams.

The older drivers get what they want here. Almost all the drivers on these bids are doing it because it was the least sucky of the sucky routes left. It was the only way I could get a good schedule that pays well.

I have lots I could say about the routing for the last couple of years, but I probably shouldn’t.

Yup, last bid I had to go to extraboard cause all they had with weekends off was team routes or off days during the week. Since 1.5 yrs of being here I’ve went from #70 to # 44. Got a sweet lazy bid. Do a local metro weds with a helper, then thurs head out of town with one trailer, unload it in two days,
900mile run, come back sat morning. Off sat night, off sun, off mon, off tues. Makes only 70k but I’ve made enough on extraboard this summer time to kick back.
