Bulletproof is dead on. In the NorthEast region, You run like a team but both guys stay up all the time dring the 24 to 26 hours shift. The first guy is on the Xata log for his 14 hours, then the other guy for his, but both guys stay up all the time unloading the truck at convienent stores. As long as you show them a CDL, they will hire anyone. The pay sucks for the hours you work also. The "cheerleaders" at the company hate when they hire real truck drivers. They like to say "I wish the company would hire delivery drivers and not truck drivers" LOL. Also, when they deliver to the Philadelphia are at night, Mclane hires off duty cops to shadow the trucks cause of the tons of cigaretts they deliver. And you know they had to do that cause a couple guys almost got killed and their trucks have even been taken while they were in the store delivering LOL. But ask them, they will tell yo they are a family company and run everything legal.

 

And this is the reason I will NEVER AGIAN work for a foodservice company that runs teams.

 

Hate to revive a Old thread, everything ras1166 stated is true, now they use people net since its easier for them to mess with your logs worked there for a year it sucked big time. They are so desperate for drivers right now out of Syracuse they are hiring newbies, they are hiring drivers out of school. Running out of resources they opened a depot out in Newburgh since they can't hire any drivers around their own location.

 

Have a friend who has been with the foodservice side for awhile. Started as a driver helper the. They sent him to school to get his cdl and now is a driver. Won top drive few times in last few years at his dc. Makin 100k yr
