How does a guy work 18 hours a day with HOS regulations?

That's a team run bro. One guy in sleeper then when they get to a stop both unload. Technically it's not legal but all these team foodservice operations do it. Dot kinda looks away but they can't prove anything and drivers aren't gonna narc em out cause they are making 100k or more a year. Basically you get naps between stops and there usaully spread out. These teams are home just about daily too.

Ok even though yall are talking about the grocery team side instead of restaurant foodservice, there is still no way those guys are making 3000$ a week like ol boy said, right?!

I wouldn't doubt it but it would have to be a senior guy. Crap senior guys at US Foods make 90-100k on a 4 day work week. Crap load of money in foodservice.

I worked for McLane for about 4 yrs. as a sleeper team. We would leave the yard about noon and hit our first stop at 9 pm. Then we would unload until 9am all in the city. I did two loads a week somewhere around 30 stops and 42,000 pounds each,4 days a week. We also picked up back hauls on the way home. It really paid good, but got old fast!

Does Mclane or MBM hire students? I`m willing to be a driver helper if it will help me out in the long run.

I don't know about Mclane, but the MBM where I live requires one year no exceptions.

Why would u want to work for mbm or mclane thats a high school guys job. Its very physical and u will be too tired to even enjoy the decent paychecks they pay. Go with saia or roadway they pay a lot better and u dont have to work every holiday.

For some people driving is worse than unloading if that is the case then Saia or Roadway would be the worse option. If I had to choose between driving 11 hours a day and driving 7 hours and unload 3 hours I would take the latter. Then again I'm in shape.

    trucker91 Thanks this.

lol! Im in shape to. I just dont see why people like to unload a whole trailer with a dolly hauling ### to every stop and being too tired to enjoy ur days off. But its kool I guess someone has to do it. Right? By the way saia and all those LTL companys you dont drive for 11 hrs straight u actually touch and unload freight all day long and deal with customers all day as well. Its just not as tiring because most stops you go to have docks and forklifts plus most of your freight is on pallets and the pay is like minimum 45k upto 80k or more depending on ur senority and what company u work for and ur off every weekend as well as every holdiay.
