I saw you guys, but didn't get a chance to speak. Will be back up there tomorrow.

 

So we finally get to Dalton at 2 am, find the truck give it a look over and send in available. Went to bed, not even my truck and he gave me the bottom bed. This morning get a load back to nc. Go find an MT and tim calls, he's got a truck for me. Got to go see him after we deliver in Charlotte tomorrow appt is from 6 to 14. Load time is 2400 to 0100 tried to get it early and shipper said no they haven't even started loading it. Hopefully well get out of here on time and be at receiver when they open.

 

well we didn't make it to the reciever when i wanted to. i went to bed after we got loaded, figured that would give me a fresh 14 when we got to conover. i got woken up at about 5 when the truck shutdown on the side of i85 in sc. "coolent level criticaly low" pop the hood and look, looks fine to me, what did the temp guage say "it was all the way over" start it and it is fine. about an hour later i get woke up again, he's too tired to drive. i asked where we were, he said almost charlotte, WRONG, gaffney, sc.

so i drive in to charlotte get there at 8, and have to wait. the w/s o/o that was pulling in to get loaded as we were leaving was in the dock getting unloaded and 2 other trucks in front of us. got unloaded and started toward conover, tim calls me "what time you start driving today" i said 6, he said nevermind i didn't have the hours. had a jersey load to deliver this morning. so we make it to conover and i get a truck tim says hes going to send me to ny for friday morning. sh2 says i need him for something else, 7 stops in nc.

so i get the bills and look at the map. call the 1st customer he will not take me early, so i wait and leave around 2100, fuel adn drive the whapping 84 miles. park half a mile from 1st stop and shut down at 2300. get my 10 hours in and go over there. guy has his "warehouse" guys pull the pick up truck up to the trailer so i don't have to back in. 4 pieces, ask the guys if there is anywhere to turn around down the street, they said NO, lots of trucks try it and have to back out. so i back into the dock to turn around. go to stop 2,

downtown podunkville, i park in front of the store, in the street with 4 ways on, tell the guy i got 3 pieces for him, he sais he'll take it at the front door. get his stuff off, go to number 3,

its downtown high point, a rather busy area. this place was some kind of showroom mall, run arount this place looking for sombody, anybody and finally find this little old lady. its 1 piece about 20 pounds, so i go get it and she has double doors open, anyway she looks at it and says "this is suppose to go to tn" she had me leave it just inside the door, i leave.

get to stop 4 its mgm trucking warehouse, 1 piece piece of cake, nope. it was a sofa, i only saw 1 sofa on the trailer, so we look, move stuf, neither of us see a sofa, so i call osd, nobody answers so i leave a message. continue searching. find a box and can't find the label(was on bottom) its the "sofa" we were looking for. that was the smallest sofa i've ever seen, just a little bigger than a chair.

stops 5 and 6 were uneventfull except the 260 pound box at number 6. last stop is a big mud hole, that's all i'm goina say about that. that was in lexington, nc at 1530 so i call local and they didn't have anything they needed help with in the area so i headed back to conover, sh2 was gone when i got there, so i finnished my trip envelope and tim showed up he's drivin today and tomorow since there is no orientation, he said i can either stay and do local tomorow or go home and be ready to deliver monday, so here i sit at home.

 

didn't have anything yesterday, there was a few drivers sitting there. but the yard guys were grabbing the mt's as soon as we dropped them.

 

wasn't a bad load, worst part was the mud hole at the last stop and the fact that their stuff was on pallets and we had to turn every one of them so they could get their pallet jack under them.

 

just got a call from dispatch, got an 1100 appointment Monday for live unload in Maine

 

I was in a red truck, ex creete truck. freightliner century. was getting ready to leave on my trip and ran into tim. asked if he was going to try to get me through jersey to change trucks. well after a few minutes he decided to go ahead and switch before i left. so now i'm in a white columbia.
