Your suggestion would be fine, if the person is applying for a job. They either "make it work", as you put it, or find a job somewhere with better equipment.

This is not a job, it is a school. You are not there to learn how to adapt to junk equipment. You are there to learn how to properly operate a truck in different scenarios. You are not being paid to tolerate the junk equipment. You are the one paying to be there. You are the paying customer, and deserve to have use of mechanically sound equipment. It doesn't have to be pretty or new, but it should all work properly. If not, you are paying for some low budget "Billy Big-Rigger's Scool of Gear Jamm'n Edge-a-Ma Cate'n Type Stuff" to rip you off. The education you will receive will probably be as good as the equipment they use. Then you'll find yourself unable to find a job, because you are not properly trained.

I would demand my money back. If they refuse, do not hesitate to get a lawyer, and have the lawyer get your money back.

Alright, a lot of ya'll are saying get my money back but the thing is, I'm going to school through a loan. I only had to pay a little over a hundred directly to the school...so now what? (I know it's probably a stupid question).

What does height have to do with anything?? That's just an excuse you use to cover up your short comings.

Truck #1 adjust mirror by hand

Truck #2 It either goes into gear or it don't, sounds like operator error

Truck #3 Now that "could" be a problem, but really not that hard to overcome.

I agree; sounds like you are making excuses. 3 Trucks and you have found "a problem" with all of them!! If you decide to keep going I feel really REALLY sorry for the trainer you get put with............

My height means I need to adjust the seat and mirrors. If I can't reach the clutch, how am I supposed to shift gears? And the mirrors will not move! They are not power mirrors, you adjust them on your own. Five people tried to move the mirrors but they wouldn't.

    Hammers and duct-tape. :biggrin_255:

In all seriousness though, you may want to consider looking into a set of pedal extenders. http://www.pedalextenders.com/article/30/vehicles/forklift these should at least be close to what you'll need. One of the women at the school I went to was looking into them, she was around your height and had a similar issue with the yard trucks they were having us use too.

These extenders should allow you to leave the seat at the height to see out of the mirrors well, and still be able to reach the pedal's. Other than going the whole "legal" route i'd say this is going to be your best course of action. And if you buy them you can take them with you to whatever company you hire on with, and it'll show them that you're taking initiative to show up ready to do the job.

Please let us know what happens from here, and best of luck driver.

If they are saying you're finding excuses then ask them to adjust the mirror and seat, maybe all seat needs is wd40 and ask them why it's so hard to get it into gear.
