Probably either listening to music or talking on the cell phone or he was probably just one stupid trucker. I've never made contact with someone from the front end(only from the trailer), but maybe it is kinda hard to feel resistance against your hood at a slow speed.

Come on, would someone in their right mind actually think that this would be some type of trucker game, or something that truckers do for "kicks"? Some folks can believe her or him if they want, but i'm not falling for it. The story doesn't sound very covinceing to me. I smell a flamer.

Why hasnt anyone offered to give Littlekia a ride? Let me tell you it changed my driving in a 4 wheeler..................
I have seen "drivers" both cars and trucks and wonder if the new toy in cracker jack, they thought was a permit to drive. Then I have seen drivers who prevent accidents and are truly polite.
Kia if you would like to get an eye opening experience about what its like to drive a truck and what a driver can see .....I will be more than willing to show you. You can pm me here I will give all personal info so you can feel safe.
I work for Texas Department of Criminal Justice so I have been checked out very throughly. Trust me Death row is a playground compared to riding in that KW900.Mr Ed Thanks this. -
Kia,
I agree with other posters' suggestions that the driver may have lost your car in his blind spot. However, all construction zones have signs advising drivers of lane changes and/or merge instructions. It is so important to pay attention to all the signs and not zip along only to be confronted with a closed lane and hope someone allows you over. Also, there are always signs on the on-ramps in construction zones to let drivers who are unfamiliar with the area know what is going on.
I drive the I-91 corridor every day and there is always paving, bridge repairs, etc., so to be safe, watch the signs.
By the way, were there no police at all during this span of road repairs? Again, from my experience, there are usually cruisers stationed before and after and during all road projects. I wonder why not one of them, nor any workers noticed your plight? -
This is not normal, nor is it right. This type of person has some serious issues. Sounds like a very bitter person and a very bad one too. This is the type of person that would probably raise a hand to a woman or abuse an animal. A creep, bully, and complete waste of space. There is no room for trucker like that out there. Dry your eyes because this dog is going to get his day real soon, driving like that.

I agree with you Craftsman. I do wonder though, why no one working in a construction zone noticed this taking place. If anything, even bad drivers (usually four-wheelers) remember the rules of the road when they see cruisers.
For the guys who depend on a CDL and a clean driving record for their living, why would anyone do this? To me, it doesn't add up. If a truck driver is polite enough to wave or blink the four-wheeler over, why would he push a little car along? I know I've never seen anything like it. Truck drivers are the best drivers on the road and go out of their way to be polite to cars who give them the same respect. -
I was not there, however, if you wave a car in front of you, you know for sure he/she is there.

Well, I for one am not going to disbelieve this happened. I'm a truck driver and before that several years ago was run off the road by a truck while in my car with my children. It was intentional and the driver was just being a bully because he also ran off others behind me on the road. I sure didn't know what to do and was also scared, because the shoulder wasn't wide enough and being two lanes, there was no place to safely get out of his way. I feel it was an isolated incident, but just as with any other profession, there's always a few unbalanced people somewhere along the way.

Tude,
I agree with you, and from what I have read I am appaled, folks we have been defending our professions for so long that when someone is asking a question, or (prying) as we feel it may be sometimes, that we automatically attack them with words, well does anyone remember the driver that ran his truck up the stair of the city hall building, or the driver that ran into the back of a police car that was on the side of the road, Now before you all jump on my shoulders and start hammering, I want you all to sit back and think of how many times you all have been driving down the road and another driver screams past you in a truck and does something absolutely insane, and all you can do is sit there a say I just don't believe what I just saw, LittleKia was doing the same thing here, you may have felt she/he wrote this to attack the truckers or to place blame, without any of us being there we really don't know what was happening, but we have all had close calls with other drivers either 4-wheelers or 18 wheelers, I have had mine too, I have been chased off the road (in my truck) by another trucker, why? because he lost focus and thought that I signaled him over when in fact it was the pickup behind him wanting him to move out of his way. Ok now that that is said, I agree with the possibility that the driver had a brain fart and forgot the KIA was there I have actually talked to a driver that did the same thing accidently to a porsche that had got in front of him and he lost the car. Kia, I understand you are probably upset and you didn't get you answers that you were seeking. I can assure you that truckers do not play games like that, what it sounds like is simply he lost you after you merged and forgot that you were there, I understand this does not help or excuse what you went through but that is the only logical explination of what happened, Now I will sign off and let the rest jump in and tare me a new one. Truck'em safe ya'll
Mr Ed Thanks this. -
Hello,
I can vouch for Trucks doing stupid stuff, last night, we where on our way to New Jersey, and we passed this one truck, and he just about ran us into the median, my hubby almost lost a 28 year perfect driving record because this streeing wheel holder wanted to work on his laptop and talk on the phone while he was driving down the road...GRRRR
And we where not the only ones who almost got ran off the road by this idiot, other drivers where yelling at him and one said they where going to call his company, but it was a small outfit that nobody had ever heard of and no phone numbers on the truck or trailer, but somebody said on the radio that they where going to call the police on him, I don't know if they ever did, but I hope they did, if he wants to drive, fine, but he needed to be paying attention to his driving, not working on his laptop, talking on the cell, and driving!!!
I swear, if he would have stopped, I would have been all over him even though I am a woman, that's how bad this guy made me mad. How do some of these drivers even get thier CDL??
