I have a volvo engine, and would never buy truck with another engine. However if I had to choose I’d definitely go with a Detroit. I’ve heard of way too many people having to rebuild an isx at 600k miles or even at 400k. Just my .02Dadetrucking305 Thanks this.

2016 DD13 here, got truck with 582k she's now got 926k with no major engine repairs at all, just did replace all 6 injectors at 912k, only one had failed but I figured the others weren't far behind. I do my PM's on 50k intervals and it does not use or lose a drop in between changes. I also do oil an analysis with every change and the numbers are always good. So my 2 cents worth is they're pretty darn good engines. Edit: Did have a leaking oil pan gasket which is common at 680k had that replaced and did a new oil pump while they were in there.

It’s all about maintenance on ALL engines and how there driven. Even though most engines today are DUMMY proof, you can still hurt them which reduces there life considerably.Dadetrucking305 and Gridaxe5588 Thank this.
