Totally not true at all, go get your medical card you should be good, the class a reverts to a class c without the medical, but should be fine as soon as you go get it. Get a DMV printout it will show what class you have if your in doubt, But youll find you still have a class a as soon as you update your medical.
You have to take a copy of the long form to DMV, I think they charge you 3 to 5 bucks, get the receipt.

I'm kinda in your same situation, I emailed my dmv and they told me all I have to do is bring the med card into an office (not online) and they will bump my cdl back to active..they didnt mention anything about a time limit but they did mention that it has to be your very next transaction or you will have to re test everything, in other words dont change your address on your dl or anything like that..but I'm in texas so its probably different in cali
