Ok, to clarify a bit --

The company doc requested supplementary documentation (specifically that my doctors fill out release forms and provide test results) for some potential physical and mental issues. I came home, chased down my doctors, got them to sign off and send the test results. The physical problems are cleared -- no issues there. What's happening now is the company doctor is demanding access to my therapist's notes (despite the fact that the therapist has signed off on me driving, the issues aren't at all serious), and since I've obviously talked with my therapist about things not pertaining to the potentially-disqualifying issue, I'm not super comfortable with providing those notes. At this time I haven't been formally failed by the company doctor, nor did he put me in any kind of "determination pending" status that allowed me to drive -- I'm kind of in limbo as far as all that is concerned. I have phone calls to make on Monday and it might be that I'm making more out of this than is actually there -- but given how much trouble this has been so far I'm feeling kind of pessimistic about it.

(And yeah, the doc did tell me I had to get a sleep study done, but that wasn't immediately disqualifying -- he told me I'd have 90 days to get it done, so whatever.)

Ultimately what I'm trying to find out is whether or not refusing access to my therapist's notes is going to be a problem with every company (since the occupational physician who gave me my physical back in June didn't even ask for releases). It seems to me a pretty unreasonable thing to ask since, again, all of my doctors have signed off on this. I'm also trying to find out exactly how to approach going to new companies -- how to broach the subject of "working" for my current company (I didn't drive for them since they never ended up clearing me) and what to tell new companies about why I'm not working for the current company anymore. "I was hired by this company but didn't end up driving because of some medical concerns that have since been cleared up," okay great, so why aren't you just sticking with them? Good question!

Hope this helps to clarify things.
