Confirm with your compliance department the status of the M.E. you used.

Apparently there’s a new system in place that they search your area and it finds the doctors office approved by the

already on my med form. Company has been aware of it since I started that’s why I get a recert every years

I take it to the DMV myself. That way I know it gets done.

I am a victim of this right here. Been off since the 7th of Nov. for a detached retina. Med card expired the day I had surgery. Finished recovery, and released from Dr. care, went to get a physical and was told by safety where to go. It seems that a 57 yr old 6'6" 290 lb man meets all the requirements for sleep apnea. BAM! got to do a sleep test, here's a 3 mo. med card. Surprise, I don't meet the minimum requirements to drive for the company at this time. Must have a minimum 6 mo med card. Now I'm out of work, waiting for a sleep test appt. Hoping the insurance pays for it, because I got not money left for out of pocket payments.

Wondering if I can go get a second med card from MY doctor, turn it in to the state (tx), will it cause a problem or conflict.

I am so pissed. I had a great job too. All the benefits, easy freight, home on the weekends. And a dang good pay checks. Poof

Even if you went to another doctor and passed, would your company accept it? Many companies require you to go to a doctor they approve.

Isn't the info in a database too? Making it impossible to bounce somewhere else.

Well in MHO I'd get another one from my Dr. at least then you can get back to work. My way of thinking a new DOTP would over rule the other one, But hey what do I know I'm 66 and they have NEVER mentions a sleep test to me and further more I wouldn't go if they did. They try to control EVERYTHING a crock of crap.

Your employer should have verified or made sure you were signed up in the data base as a condition of employment.
Once you fail a test your status is now changed in data base.
    No Dr shopping ..
You may be able to get your Dr to give you a card.
Your employer may accept that card.
Your State will reject your card when its entered in its system.
If you get pulled over the cop will know your not qualified to drive.
    OOS violation.
    Impound your truck and trailer.

People have to start getting into legal actions against both companies that demand these sleep apnea studies without merit and the carrier they work for that keeps insisting you frequent places like concentra.
I am sure there is more than enough data out there by now to prove it as the corrupt scam it really is.
As for going to my companies approved examiner, that's not my approved examiner and if they don't like it they can kiss my A goodbye.!
