If the doctor knows that you had a one year cert due to your BP, he is supposed to keep it one year.

Going to another doctor who may miss this if you are young and get in shape may result in a two year cert

You do have a history of high blood pressure now. Stop drinking those energy drinks, they are loaded with caffeine and cause your bp to go up. Your high blood pressure can damage your kidneys and your heart. Those drinks are like 5 cups of coffee caffeine. Why do you want to have so much caffeine? What did your dot doctor tell you to do to get your bp back to normal?

My bp is 104/75, and I am 63 yrs old. I am on meds to keep my bp low. I always get a one year card due to my medical history.

You may be able to get a 2 yr card if you get your bp down, you will have to ask a dot approved Doctor about your situation.

Hi. I can say that you should have told them that you had an energy drink and did a 12 hour shift, the drink , like coffee WILL ALWAYS make your BP high. Also I am a big person and if they use a small cuff or medium cuff, The reading on the BP is high, I always tell the RN to make sure it's a large cuff. Now yes, when you go back for your next DOT, and your BP is under the guide line, you will get back your 2 years.
