Benzos aren't part of the 5 panel drug test. That doesn't mean they're all sunshine and rainbows. It is worth watching some YouTube on benzodiazipine withdrawal, the dangers of taking them on a regular basis, how quickly you can become habituated to them, etc.

Your doctor will have to sign a form that you give to the DOT doctor. As long as it's not phobited by the Fmcsa and doesn't cause you to be impaired. You will be fine

If you have those issues, mood swings, anxiety, trucking isn’t for you. I don’t think you have any idea what we put up with out there. Even with your meds, you will take more than prescribed when you see what we deal with. My recommendation, look into something else.

Boy howdy, I'll say. Heck, trucking is a piece of cake today compared to what we put up with. Proof positive, newer drivers couldn't handle OUR trucking days. Usually nothing a nap couldn't cure.

Olanzipine isnt a benzo. Its an atypical antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia. Crazy how they check people for marijuana but not these drugs. Ive heard that it completely erases any emotions and makes you feel like a zombie.

You know, there's a different way to approach this. Not like our fathers that whapped a newspaper across the back of your head, "what are you bummed out about, GET GOING MELLONHEAD", and whatever was bumming us out, was repressed. Today, we've learned, that isn't the best course of action, and I suppose it would be better of us to ask, what's the anxiety about? Doctors are one dimensional, something wrong, we have a drug for that. Maybe the person needs some advice on what the problem is. Not like they are doing a line of coke before running down the road, and if the doctor is any kind of doctor, I'm sure it's a mild form realizing this person is a truck driver. I too am flabbergasted, such a big deal is made out of weed, when these drugs are much worse. Go figure.

After some thought, I started to remember some of the things that happened during my career. Drivers of ALL vehicles these days are texting and making phone calls EVEN in the middle of heavy inner-city traffic. I have seen people getting off night shifts so tired they have crashed. I lost count of the number of drivers I heard about who drove tired. They spend so much of their 10-hour breaks playing games they get just a few hours of sleep and use coffee to get through those first hours after getting up. Then you have the people who use drugs like Benadryl and expect to drive. Sadly many people still drink alcohol and drive, EVEN truckers who should know better. I just learned through the grapevine that the VDOT arrested a drunk driver in one of the scales several months ago. These things are JUST as dangerous as the drug discussed in this thread.

They say, weed positives have increased by 74% in drug tests. Of those busted, over 50% will leave the industry. Unfortunately, those people never encounter someone like what you posted. The people don't know what is wrong. Nobody told them.
