ah yes.... good old Cheap and heavy Robinson... You'll go broke hauling or them, I did.
Do you have a reefer, if so I may be able to give you some good produce leads. I used to haul allot for KLLM mostly there Atlanta ofice but that's just because I lived there then, they used to broker allot of loads. Most the big co's do farm out work but usually it's too cheap. You have your authority so start calling small companies in your area that produce stuff, better yet dress nice and go talk to them. the goal here is to find a regular haul out and then broker loads back if you have to.

There are many companies that will contract a carrier to pull their trailers using the smaller carriers own authority.(i.e. Rudolph frieght, JB Hunt, PTL, etc.etc.) If you do this, you wont need a trailer, but you just lost all of the freedoms associated with being a carrier.

this is true but then you may as well lease to them and not have all the hassle of having your own authority. It's nothing I would ever do so it didnt' dawn on me to mention it

There is a guy right here where I live that has his own authority and five trucks. He has all of them set up on that type of arrangement with three different companies. He told me that he makes better coin than what he ever did running broker frieght, and he is happy. So, like has been said many times here, you need to find what works for you.

going around askin folks?? ill do it, but it sounds kinda tedious? isnt their an easier way? just to get started i thought i would mess with the brokers, learn the biz a lil bit better, cuz i did go balls to the wall on this. but when i make moves like this, i feel asthough i cannot fail! its not an option! i guess i can take you up on that reefer broker, cuz i can rent a reefer also

I just talked to a friend of mine A philly guy is looking for trucks I know for a fact he is power only He had something to do with printers and crap like that I dont have a name tho ... If you want to put a pump on your truck you could pull a bucket and get into hauling for Bruce Oakley Do a search for them on google. I talked to a few of them guys when I had my own bucket they run all over the north east and they supply you with a trailer.. You would have about 2500 in a pump and tank and blocking the fifth wheel They are all O/O with their end dumps and they provide the trailer..

the easy way would have been to not get get authority and lease that truck to someone and let them dispatch you. Nothing worth having is easy.

You could haul containers out of the port of do trailer transport with your truck only but I don't believe they pay allot. Usually you see all old ratty trucks doing it so I doubt the money is there to make a big truck payment.

I did new trailer transporting when I was hauling medical scanners. The transporting only paid a lil better than $1 a mile I believe. But we were bobtailing back after droping off medical scanners which we were already getting paid round trip miles for so it paid good in that scenario
