melton 2014 update

Mine loves to pick up the lines of tar in the road from freshly sealed cracks! I can be in the middle of a 12 foot lane and it'll go off lol

 

They tried to get me to take a bus ride, if they want me there, then its a plane ride for me, their are reimbursing $150.00, no sweet talk, but I did a ground hound once, and will never do it again

 

Sooo... Is the northeast really as bad as everyone says?

2 years OTR and I've never been past Pittsburgh. Guess I got lucky. Headed to Jersey over the weekend, not thrilled about it.

 

It is just another big metro area. Timing can be everything though. Been across the GW bridge going to CT, RI and Mass; 2 of the 3 was a breeze, the other I was glad I had plenty of drive time. Not many truck stops and they fill early. Roads can be pretty narrow, especially in the cities. Jersey is a piece of cake compared to the above, in my experience. (which isn't a whole lot). Where you going?

 

I agree with the above. It's timing timing timing. Jersey can be a pain depending on where you are dropping. Check for road construction before you head in.

 

I'm going to Edison, NJ. I don't need cash correct? All tolls up there are EZ-Pass?

 

Yep, EZpass for all tolls. Have fun - I'm headed to South Dakota from SAPA in Louisiana.

really wish Melton would run more north and west. That's where I'm at home!

 

I won't argue with that since I just want to go to all 48. Well on my way and like them all. Some are better than others, but they all have their good points. I'm from Michigan, so north is good. Strangely, I haven't been to Wisconsin or Minnesota. Looking forward to eventually getting to the Pacific northwest. Would prefer that happen in the warmer months since dealing with snowy passes isn't my idea of fun. However, 'sall good.
