I have been local for 6 months and have 3 years otr as a driver trainer.
-
You should be good then, since you have plenty of OTR and not too long since. As long as it's verifiable, I think most you'd do is a few days with a driver trainer just to evaluate your driving, and to get you some experience with tarping and securement. what part of CA are you in?
-
The inland empire area of LA that is the only problem for me. Is I don't have anywhere to park a truck down here on home time without paying for it
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we hire outta there. I'll check my map tomorrow. And yeah, only place really is Ontario. There are a couple t/s's farther out east but..yeah. That would be your only problem.

I have worked for some of the bigger company's before. Like Werner jb hunt. Am I gonna run Ito the same bs with Melton that you do is these over company's
-
You run into the same BS at every company. What kinda bs are you talking about tho...hometime, miles, etc?
-
Being left to sit at a truck stop for days. Never making money cuz of it. Then when oh do get loads it's 100 mile run over 3 days. I know every company has bs. Some have less then others. The only reason I'd come out of a day cab is for better money. So if the miles aren't there.
-
Do you need flatbed experience?
-
oh no, I've never sat for more than a day if i wasnt getting a reset, unless I chose to of course. sometimes you will get stuck with a 400 mile load on the weekend, but not often.
and no flatbed experience is necessary, giltner, just OTRGiltner1 Thanks this.
